The ‘world’s fastest browser’ finally reached a stable milestone after in beta phase for a long time. The stable Safari 4 browser which was announced at World Wide Developers Conference (WWDC) retains all features in the beta version with significant number of bug fixes.
The browser beats all close competitors in the JavaScript test. This browser which is based on the Webkit engine, pretty much like Google Chrome, gives Safari 4 the edge over other competitors like Internet Explorer 8 and Firefox 3. However the most recent builds available for the other browsers like Firefox 3.5 beta and Google Chrome 3 alpha which contain numerous performance improvements is not applied in Safari 4.

Apple today released Safari 4, the world’s fastest and most innovative web browser. Available for Mac and Windows PCs and introduced as a beta in February of this year, Safari 4 features the Nitro engine which runs JavaScript up to 4.5 times faster than Safari 3.
